Van sign writing is cut vinyl: your logo, your trade, your phone number and web address, cut from cast film and applied straight onto the van's paint. No print, no lamination, no full-day install. For most sole traders and small firms it's the right first step, and at our Caterham unit it's usually done while you wait or by the end of the day.
We've sign written more vans than we could count over 18 years, from a single plumber's Caddy to distribution fleets. Same film, same care, same second look before it leaves.
“Like us they love a ridiculous brief that needs to be completed yesterday, allowing their creative juices to run wild. We honestly couldn’t find a better partner when it comes to vehicle wrapping and signage.”
James, Shred & ButtaWe cut from 3M Scotchcal and Avery 700 or 900 series cast vinyl, not the calendered film that cheap sign shops use. Cast film holds tight over rivets and ribs, doesn't shrink back from its edges, and keeps its colour for years on a van that's outside all day. Metallic, reflective and fluorescent films are in the range where the design calls for them. As a 3M Select Gold Partner we fit these to the manufacturer's spec, with the manufacturer's warranty.

People arrive asking for a wrap when they want sign writing, and the other way round. The honest guide:
puts cut vinyl directly on the paint. Best when the van is a solid colour (white, silver, black), the logo is one to three colours, and you want it done quickly and affordably. Lasts five to seven years on cast film.
adds printed panels of colour or imagery, usually on the sides and rear, with sign writing on top or built in. More impact, more money, a day to fit.
Van wrapping
is the whole van printed. Right for brands and delivery fleets.
What it costs
The model and year, and your artwork in whatever form you have it. A scan of your business card is fine. We'll rebuild it if we need to.
We place the graphics on a template of your van so you can see it before anything is cut. Two or three rounds of tweaks is normal.
Each colour is cut on a plotter, weeded and pre-masked ready for install.
Indoors at Caterham, on a clean van (please wash it first), with panels squared and aligned across the sliding door and rear doors so the lettering reads straight when the doors are shut and open.
Every letter, every edge. You get the care sheet. Wait 48 to 72 hours before washing.
Once your layout exists, every additional van is a repeat: same file, same positions, same finish. We keep the templates on file so a van bought next year matches the one bought this year. From five vehicles, we'll write a fleet plan with per-van pricing and a schedule that keeps most of your vans working.
Sign writing is removable, which is why leasing companies generally allow it.
Plumbers, electricians, heating engineers, builders, decorators, landscapers, cleaners, locksmiths, couriers and every other trade in Surrey and south London whose van is their shop window.
Sign writing, partial wraps and rear graphics fitted the same day at our Caterham unit on cast film that lasts.
Custom van and car wrap design built on a template of your exact vehicle, from a logo on a business card to a fleet livery standard.
Simple sign writing (logo, name, contact details on a plain van) is typically plus VAT at Wrap Cube. More colours, more sides, rear window graphics and Chapter 8 kit add to that. We quote it and the price is fixed.
Cutting is done before you arrive. Fitting a standard set is a couple of hours, so same day is usual. Larger vans with lots of graphics can be a full day.
Five to seven years on 3M or Avery cast vinyl, fitted properly. Cheaper calendered vinyl can start lifting and fading within two.
Usually, yes, with the leasing company's permission. It's removable. Plan for professional removal at the end of the lease.
Tell your insurer. Several insurers discount sign-written vans because they're easier to identify and less attractive to thieves. Undeclared modifications are the thing to avoid.
If your vehicle stops on or beside the highway for work (utilities, highways, recovery, traffic management), your contract or local authority will usually require Chapter 8 conforming rear chevrons. Ask us and we'll tell you what your vehicle needs.
Yes. Removal is quoted separately because it depends on what's there and how long it's been on. We do both in one visit.
The van, your logo, and a rough idea of what you want it to say. We'll send a layout and a fixed price the same working day, and if you're nearby we can often fit it the same day too. 020 8944 6360.
